Highlanders play hard!

Howell 21 - Walled Lake Central 28

Howell 42- Pinckney 0
(Friday, September 17, 2010, Pinckney, MI)  The determined Howell Highlanders jumped out in front of the Pinckney Pirates 28-0 by half time, holding the home team to less than 140 yards of offense on the night.  Howell developed a balance attack tallying over 420 yards of offensive stats on the night.  Derrick Palma rushed for over 100 yards on the night, while the rest of the backfield (nine other Highlander running backs) all got their opportunity to carry the pigskin for almost another couple hundred yards. Greg Cauley connected for seven receptions finding Josh Gardner (2-51 yards), Matthew Sullivan (2-28 yards) and Lance Hudge (1-18 yards).  Defensively, another shut out for Howell as the Highlanders held the Pirates to very little offensive production and never threatened to score.  Jimmy Dobson and Jim Walsh led the team with 6 tackles each while Anthony Patritto got a big sack for a 9 yard loss.  Derrick Palma also contributed on defense by picking off the Pirates for an interception.  All in all the Highlanders are back in business as they return home next week for a three week KLAA Home stand beginning with newest KLAA member and last years conference champion, Grand Blanc.  The Highlanders lost last year’s contest with Grand Blanc by just one point and hopes to get back on track in the Region with a win Friday night.
